Academics of Mtendere Secondary School (MTESCO)
|
During the past two years, Mtendere has been performing astonishingly and unexpectedly. Mtesco is now celebrating years of great heights. The school performed very well for the last time in in 2013. From there, the reputation of the school went down and the Malawi country never heard of Mtendere Secondary School again. However, the students never stopped pushing as ants because hard work pays and there is no sweet without sweat.
The teachers also did their best to restore the fierce MTESCO back on top. The school never rested as it slept with one eye open to check if any school was to strike MTESCO without any alarm.
After passing through many struggles, the school indeed regained its strength and enjoyed the sweet once again in 2022 as it managed to produce the only 6 points candidate in the whole country - Malawi. As if that was not enough, in 2023, the school also was in the top 3 of the best performing schools.
Talking about this year 2024, students are casting their studies to the deep side of the sea of academics to a rise and shine and blankets are missing students as sleep has gone to sue them for keeping always their eyes on books.
The school is also very careful as most of the schools are not joking to punch on MTESCO. The goal is not to leave any stone unturned to catch what is beneath it.
The list below shows the names of students who were awarded by MTESCO’s Parents Teachers Association and Alumni for the past two years.
2022Vitumbiko Kaunda6 Points

A Fruit Tree and Stones
Is there anyone who does not have a challenge in a particular dimension of life? St Paul's epistle to the Romans says "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).
Yes, in this world we shall encounter many challenges but they are far less than the joy and glory revealed in us. It is that glory in us that attracts challenges or suffering caused by evil powers or enemies of the light of God. Remain steadfast doing what is right and just before God because a fruit tree receives more stones because of its value (fruits). Be happy when challenges come on your way as stones because the enemy is after the good fruits of love, peace, joy, the list goes on that hosts God's glory which shall be revealed in us. Challenges try to frighten us so that we may look back instead of moving forward. Take those challenges or suffering as as stones admiring or envious of the good fruits in you yet to reveal God's glory.
In everything, let us give thanks to our Lord God.
Your brother in the Lord Jesus Christ,
Ignatius Miri
